Consider what it is that we are giving up, even for a little while, when we give in to negative peer pressure. What are the consequences?

Short term: we may gain acceptance among our group of peers who are doing immoral or harmful acts. We therefore become associated with them and they affect our actions and character.

Imam Ali (a) said: ‘Beware of being friends with immoral people, for verily only evil accompanies evil.’

Long term: every action is recorded and we will see it on the Day of Judgement. This belief in the unseen realities is vital.
