When Rasulullah (s) ascended the heavens for mi‘raj, he saw many rewards and punishments taking place. They were the manifestations of the good or bad actions carried out by people.

For example, he saw beautiful palaces of transparent ruby built by the angels for the people who fast by day, and pray when the others are asleep at night.

He also saw a group of angels building palaces with gold and silver bricks. After building for a while, they would stop. When Rasulullah (s) enquired as to why they are doing that, they replied when the person on earth recites dhikr of Allah, they build, but when he/she stops, they also stop.

On the other hand, he saw a woman being suspended and punished for not observing hijab in front of non-mahrams.
