Jihad means ‘to strive’. We must strive in the way of Allah and for Him. This could be:

  • Striving to obtain knowledge
  • Striving against one’s desires
  • Striving against an enemy
  • Persevering in obedience
  • Persevering against temptation of committing sin
  • Helping a weak person
  • Doing any good action

We can see from the verse given at the beginning of this lesson (29:69) that those who strive in the way of Allah, in any form and any manner, will be granted the support and guidance from Him.
