Module 5E-05 General Signs
A number of ahadith describe the political, economic, and social state of the world prior to the reappearance of Imam (a). Therefore, it is extremely important for us all to be aware of what is happening in the world around us. The general signs indicating Imam’s dhuhur describe a world filled with fear, oppression, injustice, disbelief in God, and moral decline.
Allah says in the Qur’an:
Surat al-Baqarah, 2:155
And We will surely test you with a measure of fear and hunger and a loss of wealth, lives, and fruits; and give good news to the patient.
وَلَنَبْلُوَنَّكُمْ بِشَيْءٍ مِنَ الْخَوْفِ وَالْجُوعِ وَنَقْصٍ مِنَ الْأَمْوَالِ وَالْأَنْفُسِ وَالثَّمَرَاتِ ۗ وَبَشِّرِ الصَّابِرِينَ
Through this ayah, we can see how each person shall be tested before the reappearance of Imam al-Mahdi (a).
