Module 4C-03: Intro

In Lesson 1, we learned that our a’immah (a) are very special and are appointed by Allah. They are perfect humans, who do not sin, and they have been given a special purification and protection which makes them ma‘sum. This means that they do not commit any sins.

In the Qur’an, Allah says:

QuR’ANIC VERSE

Surah Fatir, 35:32

Then We made those who We chose from Our servants as inheritors of the Book [the Qur’an].

وْرَثْناَ الكِْتاَبَ الذَِّينَ اصْطَفَينْاَ مِنْ عِباَدِناَ َ ثُمَّ أ

In this verse, Allah says that He gave the knowledge and the authority of the revealed Books to the servants that He has chosen. The last revealed Book is the Qur’an. We all know that the Qur’an was revealed to Rasulullah (s) and that after him, Allah chose the twelve a’immah (a) from his progeny who inherited this knowledge of the Qur’an and they have protected it! The a’immah (a) are chosen by Allah and have unique qualities and characteristics and special responsibilities as our leaders. We explored some of these in our last lesson. Do you remember what they are?
