Du‘a Nudbah

Du‘a Nudbah is a gift to us from Imam Ja‘far as-Sadiq (a) who has recommended that it should be recited on four occasions:

When our parents are away from us we dearly miss their presence and feel sadness in our hearts as we wish to be reunited with them. Similarly, whilst our Imam is away from us we should also feel sadness for the distance between us and crave to be in his presence. Du‘a Nudbah is one way of expressing this feeling of sadness and longing for our Imam.

Du‘a Nudbah is the supplication of wailing in which we become emotionally engaged as we recall the oppression and injustice carried out against the household of Rasulullah (s) and their followers.
