The great scholar Shaykh as-Saduq was born to Ibn Babawayh. Shaykh as-Saduq’s full name is Muhammad ibn Ali ibn Babawayh al-Qummi. His famous book ‘Kamal ad-Din wa Tamam an-Ni‘mah’ discuses Imam al-Mahdi’s (a) life, personality, ghaybah, and dhuhur. The writing of this book was inspired by Imam al-Mahdi (a) himself, who suggested to him in a dream that Shaykh as-Saduq first write about the ghaybah of the anbiya and then of the Imam of the time. Shaykh as-Saduq is the author of one of the four canonical books of Shi‘a hadith.
