Module 7E-03 Islam as a religion

Islam as a religion aims to create peace, love, and harmony within society. Islam teaches us that as believing men and women we are protectors of one another, and that we also have a responsibility to look out for each other in a spiritual sense. The practice of amr bil-ma‛ruf ensures that we do not abandon those who sin, and that we do not become uncaring towards the moral and ethical problems faced by others. It is because we care about and love our fellow Muslims that we do not want them to be misguided.

Ayatullah Burujardi explains this beautifully through the example of a blind man walking along a path towards a hole. Would we let the blind man continue his journey knowing that he will fall into the hole and get hurt?

Or would we guide him away from the hole so he can reach his destination safely?
